Editorial Help and Mentoring
Keen to finish or start that novel? Don’t know how to begin? Are you stuck half-way through? Are you losing faith in your writing? Perhaps you've already received rejections from agents, or publishers. Perhaps you're tired, disheartened.
I offer writers professional guidance and support with their fiction. I have taught at Arvon, Birmingham University, and I am a Royal Literary Fellow at Exeter College, Oxford. I teach creative writing at Skyros, Greece. I have also worked with The Literary Consultancy as a reader/editor for more than ten years.
If you have finished a manuscript, I can offer an honest, detailed manuscript assessment, with practical editorial advice to get your work into its best shape before sending out to publishers.
Jean Rhys once said, of writing a novel 'You have to start it, get on with it, and finish it.' We know that this is not quite as easy as it sounds. Writing a novel can take years, and in my experience, the sooner you share the work with someone who can help, the quicker you make progress.
Whatever level you're at, I can meet you there.
